PREGNANCY YOGA
STUDENT INFORMATION SHEET
WHAT TO WEAR
Something comfortable that you can move freely in, but avoid very loose clothing that may restrict your vision.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
In order to be as COVID-safe as possible, please bring your own yoga mat. You will also need a bottle of water.
Other items you might want to bring include a cosy blanket/towel or pillow.
If you have a birth ball, please bring that too.
HOW TO PREPARE
It is advisable not to eat a heavy meal before attending class, but come hydrated and have a little snack beforehand to keep blood sugar levels stable. Switch off anything that dings, rings or buzzes.
PUNCTUALITY
Please aim to arrive 5 minutes before the class starts. The class will start promptly at the specified time.
INJURIES AND CONTRAINDICATIONS
All of the postures and breathing techniques used in this class will be suitable for those women in their second and third trimester and modifications will be given according to the number of weeks pregnant you are.
If you have any medical concerns or are suffering with an injury or medical condition, it is imperative that you seek advice from your GP or midwife before attending a yoga class. It is your responsibility to notify the teacher of any injuries (new or ongoing) before every class. Always work to your own ability and respect the limitations of your body.
Whilst pregnant, the body releases the hormone relaxin which may increase the range of flexibility in the joints - take care not to go beyond your ‘normal’ range of movement.
BOOKINGS & CANCELLATIONS T&Cs
If you have booked a class through the website that you can no longer attend, you must give at least two hours notice - the booking system will not allow you to cancel any later.
If there are extenuating circumstances, do just let me know by dropping me an email.
